Global Diversity Awareness Month at HKUST

What is Global Diversity Awareness Month?

Global Diversity Awareness Month is celebrated every October to promote understanding and appreciation of the different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives that make up our communities.

The month has its roots in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, and is now celebrated in over 100 countries worldwide.

Celebration at HKUST

To celebrate Global Diversity Awareness Month, with the joint effort of Schools, Departments, and Offices, an assortment of events promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion will be held from 16 Oct to 11 Nov 2023.  Join us to celebrate this important month and cherish the diversity at HKUST community!
