This experiential tour is tailored for HKUST staff and their children (suitable for children aged 5 to 15) for learning about the diverse culture in Hong Kong and provides an opportunity to encourage our staff to spend quality time with their families.

Time:    2:15pm to 5:30pm
Transportation : A single journey ride from HKUST to Wan Chai will be provided
Venue : Sikh Temple, Wan Chai (Gathering point: HKUST)
Target : HKUST staff and their children
Quota : 30 parents and children (on first come, first served basis)
Language : English or Cantonese (depending on the language ability of enrolled participants)
Registration is closed as the event is FULL.

About the Visit

Part 1: Basic introduction of tour arrangement and Sikh culture
Part 2: Respect the Sikh culture and religion: Washing feet and tying the turban
Part 3: Introduction and guided tour around the Sikh temple: Experiencing the Sikh culture and traditions
Part 4: Fair kitchen: Understand more about the Sikh values through tasting Indian vegetarian food
Part 5: Sharing and debriefing of learning

Objectives

1. To introduce the diverse culture in Hong Kong; and
2. To promote the message of inclusiveness in the community; and
3. To enhance the wellness of staff by providing a learning opportunity for both parents and their children
