Diversity and Equal Opportunities Unit jointly with Human Resources Office are proud to update you that HKUST becomes the first university in Hong Kong to join hands with The Women’s Foundation (TWF) as a 2025/26 Advocate Partner, a big step forward in our commitment to nurturing inclusive leaders and championing diversity, equity and inclusion on campus and beyond.

About the speakers
Sasha Anderson
Sasha Anderson joined The Women’s Foundation in 2024. She is currently Manager, Pipeline Initiatives, managing the Mentoring Program for Women Leaders, the Boardroom and C-suite Leadership Program, and the Advocates Network.
Clara Hopkins
Clara Hopkins joined The Women’s Foundation in 2023. She runs the Male Allies Program and supports various board diversity initiatives including the Women to Watch Platform.
Raymond Leung
Raymond Leung has been involved in DEI agenda for Swire for a number of years, recently chairing the Male Allies chapter at HAECO with an aim in promoting gender equity awareness in the workplace. He has been active as well at The Women’s Foundation participating in its different programs – as a mentee, mentor, steering committee member and corporate sponsor. Currently based in Hong Kong, he has been an executive at Swire for 20 years, working at Cathay and HAECO with postings in Chinese Mainland, Australia and the UK.
Dr. Shirla Sum
Dr. Shirla Sum is the Secondary School Principal at Victoria Shanghai Academy. Previously, she served as Vice Principal (Education) and Director of the Yushan Academy Center for Design and Innovation at UWC Changshu China. An experienced IB examiner, Shirla has taught Economics, Business Management, and Individuals & Societies at international schools in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Before transitioning to education, Shirla worked as an economist at Goldman Sachs in New York and Hong Kong, where she spent five years conducting macroeconomic research and analyzing the US and Asia-Pacific economies.
Faye Yuen
Faye Yuen is Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity for KPMG China, based in Hong Kong. She leads the development and implementation of IDE initiatives and programs in the firm, in alignment with KPMG China’s overall strategic ambitions and priorities, including the overall organization of the firm’s IDE Council. Faye is also a Director in Internal Communications for the Hong Kong region. She has developed a passion for everything about People from her years of exposure in driving strategic initiatives in Communications and People Engagement, as well as Inclusion & Diversity.
