Policy, Procedures and Guidelines
To foster and maintain a diverse, inclusive and open learning and working environment, to stop all forms of discrimination, harassment or vilification and to ensure inclusion and equality are embedded into its functions, operations and activities, the University sets out its standards and approach for University’s members via its Equal Opportunities and Anti-discrimination Policy.
The University has also established the Procedures for Handling Discrimination/Harassment Complaints setting out the mechanism for handling discrimination and harassment complaints at the University. Click here for the Complaint Form.
The Prevention and Handling of Discrimination and Harassment: Guidelines for Supervisors and Managers has been developed providing suggestions and best practices for preventing discrimination and harassment at the workplace/ learning environment.
To foster appreciation of diversity and bring the HKUST community together, the University has produced the Inclusive Language Guidelines Booklet and Inclusive Language Guidelines Leaflet (for students) aiming to raise awareness and assist faculty, staff, and students in making inclusive language part of everyday life and communication at HKUST.
