About the panelists
Prof. Alex HE,Professor, Division of Public Policy and Acting Director, Institute for Public Policy, HKUST
Alex is Acting Director of the Institute for Public Policy at HKUST. He specializes in social policy, health policy, and policy innovation with particular focus on East Asia. Alex is a renowned policy scholar. He has been ranked as the world’s top 2% most cited scientists since 2021 and received the Transition and Developing Economies Award by the International Public Policy Association. Alex has led a dozen of major research projects funded by the World Health Organization, Chief Executive’s Policy Unit, Research Grants Council, and Tsinghua University.
As a policy scholar, Alex is actively engaged in policy advocacy. His articles appeared in leading newspapers, including China Daily, South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Ming Pao and Singtao Daily. He was interviewed by the Phoenix TV, China Central Television, The Straits Times, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), ATV, China Radio International, and CBS News in the US on various policy issues.
Ms. Maria HUI, Chief Human Resources Officer, K11 Concept Management Limited
Maria is a seasoned business leader with a spectrum of experiences across various industries and functions, which includes HR, marketing, internal operations and technology consulting. She is currently the CHRO for K11 Concepts Management Limited, and prior to this, she was the COO for Microsoft Hong Kong.
As a transformational leader, Maria truly believes in data-driven decision making and the importance of culture and a high performing team. She believes that all talents can be nurtured, and it’s the role of leaders to inspire and lead the way.
Ms. Maryann TSENG, Head of International Capital Markets and Senior Managing Director, Strategic Investment Department, SenseTime Inc.
Maryann is a veteran in Global Markets and Investment Banking, previously lead senior bankers in teams at bulge brackets investment banks and leading Chinese investment banks. She is now the Head of International Capital Markets of Asia leading artificial intelligence company with market capitalization of US$8-10bn. Her unique strength is her understanding of global capital markets, institutional investors, government relationship, and perspectives in artificial intelligence in real life applications and adoptions.

Ms. Fiony FUNG, Assistant Manager - Inclusion, Equity & Diversity, Culture & Engagement at Jardine Matheson
Fiony began her career in the HR field, handling a wide range of HR functions including compensation & benefits, recruitment, and talent management. Currently, she specializes in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), driving culture and engagement within the company. Working in a conglomerate, she interacts with various industries and diverse individuals, understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
In 2024, Fiony designed and delivered the Inclusive Leadership Workshop, training over 200 colleagues with great success. Beyond her role in the organization, she actively engages in external speaking events to share her perspectives. As one of the youngest mentees in The Women's Foundation Mentoring Program, she believes everyone can grow with a supportive network. To contribute back to the society, she mentors university students to support their transition from school to work.
